Warranty Policy

YOUR CONFIDENCE MATTERS TO US.

At EyeLine South Africa, we're committed to providing quality swimming equipment that you can rely on.

All products purchased through our online store are supplied by RedLake Retail (Pty) Ltd and are covered by the consumer protections provided under South African law.

If something isn't right with your purchase, we're here to help.

1. Warranty Coverage

In accordance with the South African Consumer Protection Act (Act 68 of 2008), all products carry a six-month statutory implied warranty of quality, calculated from the date of delivery.

This means products must be of good quality, reasonably suitable for their intended purpose and free from defects, subject to the provisions of the Act.

Where a product is found to be defective or does not meet these requirements within six months of delivery, you are entitled to choose between:

  • A repair, where appropriate.

  • A replacement product.

  • A refund of the purchase price.

Your statutory rights apply regardless of whether the product has been used, provided the issue qualifies as a defect under the Act.

2. What Is Covered?

Our warranty covers genuine product defects, including manufacturing faults or material defects that affect the product's normal use or performance.

Examples may include:

  • Swimming Goggles: Defective straps, buckles, lens components or seals caused by manufacturing faults.

  • Swimming Caps: Manufacturing defects affecting the material, seams or construction.

  • Training Fins: Defects in materials or construction that affect normal use.

  • Swimming Accessories: Manufacturing faults that prevent the product from functioning as intended.

Each claim is assessed individually to establish the nature and cause of the problem.

3. What Is Not Covered?

The warranty does not generally cover damage or deterioration resulting from:

  • Normal wear and tear through regular use.

  • Accidental damage, misuse or improper handling.

  • Scratches caused by rubbing, wiping or contact with abrasive surfaces.

  • Damage caused by incorrect cleaning or storage.

  • Exposure to excessive heat or inappropriate chemicals.

  • Unauthorised alterations or repairs.

  • Damage resulting from use contrary to the product's care instructions.

These exclusions apply only where the condition is attributable to the relevant cause and do not limit your statutory rights concerning defective products.

4. Swimming Goggle Lenses & Anti-Fog Coatings

EyeLine swimming goggles may feature specialised anti-fog coatings and mirrored lens finishes designed to enhance your swimming experience.

These coatings require careful handling and can deteriorate naturally over time.

The gradual reduction in anti-fog performance through normal use is not, by itself, considered a manufacturing defect.

Similarly, scratches or coating damage caused by rubbing the lenses, improper cleaning or abrasive contact are generally not covered.

However, a coating or lens defect caused by faulty materials or manufacturing remains subject to applicable warranty protections.

Care Tip: Rinse your goggles gently with fresh water after swimming. Never rub or wipe the inside of the lenses, and allow them to air-dry naturally before storing them in a protective case.

5. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

If you believe your product is defective, please contact us through the Contact Us page on our website.

To help us process your claim, please provide:

  1. Your full name and contact details.

  2. Your order number or proof of purchase.

  3. The name or description of the product.

  4. A brief explanation of the problem.

  5. Clear photographs showing the issue, where possible.

Our customer service team will review the information and advise you on the next steps.

We may need to inspect the product to establish the nature of the fault.

Please contact us before sending any products back so that we can arrange or explain the appropriate return procedure.

6. Product Inspection & Resolution

Once a product has been returned, we will assess the reported fault.

Where the product qualifies for a remedy under the Consumer Protection Act, we will honour your applicable right to a repair, replacement or refund.

For qualifying defective goods returned within six months of delivery, the return will be handled without penalty and at our risk and expense, as required by law.

Where a repaired product continues to have the defect, or another defect is discovered within three months of the repair, the Consumer Protection Act provides for a replacement or refund.

If an inspection determines that the problem resulted from accidental damage, misuse or normal wear rather than a qualifying defect, we will explain our findings before taking any further action.

7. Additional Manufacturer Warranties

Certain products may carry additional manufacturer warranties, where expressly provided.

Any such warranty will be subject to its stated terms and conditions and will operate in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

Please refer to the individual product description or contact us if you require clarification about a specific product.

8. Returns & Refunds

Our Warranty Policy relates primarily to defective or faulty products.

For change-of-mind returns, exchanges or other returns, please refer to our separate Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in either policy limits or excludes your rights under the South African Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.
